What Is a Sinus Lift?
A sinus lift, also known as sinus augmentation or sinus floor elevation, is a surgical procedure that adds bone to the upper jaw in the area of the back teeth (molars and premolars).
The maxillary sinuses are air-filled spaces above your upper teeth. When upper back teeth are lost, the bone in this area shrinks and the sinus can expand downward, leaving insufficient bone height for implants.
During a sinus lift, the sinus membrane is carefully lifted upward and bone graft material is placed beneath it. This creates the necessary bone depth for stable, long-lasting implants.
You may need a sinus lift if:
- You have lost upper back teeth
- CT scan shows insufficient bone height
- Your sinus has expanded into the bone area
- You have had bone loss from gum disease

The Sinus Lift Procedure
How we create bone for your upper jaw implants.
CT Scan Assessment
3D imaging reveals your sinus anatomy and the amount of bone augmentation needed.
Accessing the Sinus
A small window is made in the bone to access the sinus membrane.
Membrane Elevation
The sinus membrane is carefully lifted upward to create space for bone.
Bone Graft Placement
Bone graft material is placed beneath the elevated membrane.
Healing
The area heals for 4-9 months as new bone forms, ready for implants.
Sinus Lift Pricing
£1,500 - £3,000
Per side (left or right sinus)
